No pictures

Our computer crashed last week and we are in the midst of retreiving images off of it and hoping that it is salvagable. So, I don't have new pictures to share. But I will share a story, yesterday while we were driving in the car home from church, I passed Liam an apple and I heard a little "I ya ya" which is how he says I love you, he said it again and then I asked him if he just said I love you and he said ya and did this cute smile. Melted my little heart. What more does a mama want to hear? That was the first time he said it on his own.

Hopefully we will get our computer back. I have some apple picking pictures to share.

Him

And me. Pretty much always together.

When he is big and drives a car (rather than a trike) and it's not just me and him all the time anymore, I will remember this bike that he drove down the sidewalk so fast almost every day and sometimes fell off and cried and needed a kiss. This picture will always be special because in some way it encompasses last year and how hard it was for us to live here and go to school and all the days that I followed him down the street. He was a comfort to me.

I really don't want to just make the days pass and take this time for granted, I want to listen to those old ladies in grocery stores and truly enjoy him and live like I know this time will be gone so quickly and then I will want it back.

Pardon me?

Liam's favorite thing to say lately is "On the Bum". He says it to strangers who say hi to him most the time. The other day a lady in store said to Liam "Hello there, aren't you cute" which Liam replied with "On the Bum". The lady smiled awkwardly and said "what was that?" to which Liam promptly said "On the bum" again and shot her a smile like this. She didn't stay to finish this intriguing conversation.

Where's Waldo (which was Liam's obsession for the summer months) has been replaced with "yeeya" which mean Jesus. He loves this little Jesus Bible he has and wants to find all the stories with Jesus' picture in them. He tells Jesus to "get up Yeeya" when he is sitting down or "Yeeya in le wawa" when there is a pic of him in the water. When he sees the picture of Jesus on the cross he says "Thanks Yeeya" :) This morning I was looking at Yeeya with him and I asked him if Jesus was his favorite person in this book and he said no! Yiam! (Liam). I thought he was confused and asked him again showing him his favorite pictures of Jesus in the book and he still said no!! Yiam!! I laughed and thought how true that statement really is for me too.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

We're back from our very long and lovely vacation. It is really quite sad to be home and back to normal life - starting school and making dinner alone, but there really is nothing like sleeping in your own bed and having your own home. B's wrist is getting better but he still isn't able to teach tennis which means he won't be working on Saturdays this fall.

I'm not sure how to share everything we did while we were home without pictures so here are lots of pictures. I think this may be the record for pictures in a single blog.

He found my mom's lipstick and hid while applying to his face.
You may recognize this little guy, it's Sammy. He and his mom came for a very rainy visit to the cottage.
We got to catch up with some old friends and meet their little one for the first time. Doesn't Liam look like a giant here?
Jumping on the trampoline with Grandma was one of Liam's newfound loves and talents. I think Grandma is much more fun than Mama on the whole though.
This picture is just....I just love it! He looks so sweet, it may be a new favorite.

He loves Uncle Jonathan - he is the perfect uncle for a boy.
Mama's attempt at a photoshoot, can you tell he was bribed with treats??

B was able to spend so much time with Liam this summer. It really was a treat for everyone.
This makes me laugh - he loves to throw stones in the water, but he is just taking it so seriously here.
Can't describe how much Liam loves his Nana and Bumpa. They're really going to miss each other this time.
